Why is my computer making noise? I just recently made a game in unreal engine and packaged it when i’m trying to run it, its running smoothly but making a lot of fan noise Pc Specs i5-9400f,rtx 2060,16gb ram. The pc is not dusty. And the game I have made its just a simple ball rolling game. Any help is greatly appreciated.
What FPS is the game running at? You can do stat fps
in the console to see. I’ve had issues in the past where I didn’t set a maximum FPS and the game started running at like 300 which made my computer go crazy. There are some project settings for setting the max FPS.
Yeah so i’m a complete beginner when i had checked for fps in unreal engine it was 120fps but i have packaged the game and now when i open the game My computer is making so much fan noise. I have no idea how to set the max fps. By console are you referring to unreal engine’s console. Sorry i have no clue. if you could tell me how to do that i’ll surely try
Thank you for your concern.
You can change your framerate settings here in Project Settings (search framerate)
To open the console in game press the ` key, then you can type commands like stat fps
So i did it when i went to the setting its already marked min and max max was 60.2 or something but i changed it to 120.
the only thing that wasn’t checked was smooth frame rate. Is that what caused the problem? when i run the game now after repackaging i’m not hearing that huge fan noise although some times i’m hearing loud fan noise for a couple seconds after opening the game. And is that fan noise caused bad for my pc? Anyway thank you so much for your concern
Yeah the min and max are only used if you enable Smooth Framerate. The loud fan is just your computer working to load the game, it’s nothing to worry about.
Oh I get it now thanks a lot. I was really worried about my pc. Thank you
