why is my capsule component detaching

i have a horse as a skeletal mesh component in the character bp

This is how the horse is spawned from a widget

Now i want to be able to reverse this and detach from the skeletal mesh but everything ive tried has ended up detaching the mesh from the capsule component

Hey there @Simolitical! My first thought would be that when detaching the player’s mesh from the character class it might be breaking some internal reference. Do you reattach it to the original character BP immediately? Is it reattached under the capsule as a child?

what worked was reattaching the mesh to the capsule component
