Hi there,
Can you please give more details about your issue? You can add metahuman to any project using UE5.0.3 via Quixel Bridge plugin.
Hi there
No problem, thank you for sharing the screenshot. You mean you cannot download the Metahuman sample project? This seems to be a recurrent bug in the editor. Just give some time after you opened the editor, so the information will be updated. Or, you can try to close the editor and reopen it after a few seconds.
After that, make sure to select the target engine in the drop-down list.
That should work. Give it another try and let me know.
I have launched UE 5.0.3, gave it some time and tried and ended up with same error. I also tried to close and relaunch UE 5.0.3 and picked 5.0 from Metahuman dropdown and its still not working.
I’m able to browse and import metahumans on Quixel Bridge but cannot work Metahuman creator on 5.0. It works when I choose 4.27 from dropdown.
Is there any other way to fix that bug?
I saw other users facing the same problem. Have you raised a support ticket? Perhaps @SupportiveEntity can give you some directions.
Hey there @aybarsvurucu! Welcome to the community! @L.F.A thanks for the tag in!
I’ve been seeing reports of this around for a while for specifically the metahumans sample project, I haven’t been able to replicate it at all. So I fresh installed the Metahumans sample scene a moment ago for 5.0 and it downloaded and launched no issue and launched cleanly. (Win10)
I’ve noticed that some of the sample projects are only available on Windows, I’m starting to believe that the 5.0 update of the metahumans sample project is entirely unsupported on MacOS (or at least M1 machines) from that error because you definitely have 5.0.3 fully installed. I’d test it on our Macbook here but it’s too old to run UE4.27 much less 5 even reduced.
What kind of Mac do you have? Is it M1 or M2?
Did you have a previous version of the project sharing the same name?
Does the 4.27 sample project work fine?
The 5.0 metahumans sample documentation hasn’t been finalized yet so we’re looking at the previous docs: MetaHumans Sample for Unreal Engine 4.26.1 | MetaHuman Creator Documentation
But it seems the sample is set up to use tons of windows only features so it’s not out of the question now.
Extra links to web MHC and how to use the plugin in engine for others that may end up here.

Thank you, @SupportiveEntity and @L.F.A
I’m on M1 Max and it works just fine on V4.27
I’m kind of sad with everything going on in between Epic Games and Apple. Because, Metal performance shares are pretty capable of raytracing and Apple Silicon can access all the memory for vram thanks to unified memory.
I just wish for industry giants to collab for more universal solutions instead of making this a hassle for us creators.
I understand! I hope that more universal solutions can be worked through as 5.0+ continues to grow!
I think it’s ironic that the support links not working. But that aside. I use to be able to see my new Matahumans in 5 but when I open QBridge in 5.4 it won’t show me my new MetaHuman edits?
Looks like you’re having issues with version compatibility. If I am not mistaken, the compatibility range is set as follows:
4.27, 5 and 5.1
5.2 and 5.3
5.4 and newer
Also, if you try to add newer MH to projects containing older MH, or vice-versa, you’ll get a warning message pointing out that will break the files, mainly pose assets, animation blueprints and facial animations.
If you want to display your older metahumans in Quixel Bridge 5.4, go to the metahuman creator site, launch version 5.4, select the tab Legacy Metahumans, find your older character, and update it to a newer version. After that, your character will be displayed in Bridge 5.4.
