Hi, I am new to twinmotion, and originally work from acad civil 3d. I want to transfer a simple geometry from acad to TM, so I save my file as a dxf and use import Dxf in TM. However nothing is imported, what am I doing wrong? In the Dxf file I tried with poly lines, region, 3d face, solid, mesh... Nothing works! The geometry itself is simple, just 2 objects representing a water plane in my model.
I ended up downloading a different program (pcon planner) in order to convert my dwg to skp, it did the trick. But it is a workaround, and since it seems to be an option in TM to directly import Dxf,I rather use that
Any help on how to properly import Dxf files would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you for reaching out, the .dxf file type should be supported in Twinmotion. If you are still experiencing this issue in Twinmotion 2023.1, please use the Contact Us button on the Twinmotion Community home page here to submit a bug report so that we may look into this issue further.
If you had not received an error message it is possible that the model may have imported correctly though is not showing in the camera's viewport. If the model is listed in the Scene outliner, you can select the model from the list and press the F key to zoom to the selection.
If this is not the issue, please use the Contact Us button on the Twinmotion Community home page here to submit a bug report. When submitting the report, it will be helpful to also provide a copy of the file(s) the issue is occurring with if possible so that we may use them to test on our side.
I am having issues with the DXF file from AutoCAD to Twinmotion. Nothing shows when importing the DXF file. The only work around I found was to take the file in 3ds max and export a 3ds file to import. I just did a test by exporting stl from AutoCAD to twinmotion and I was able to import the geometry.
