Why is Android platform support so difficult/impossible to set up?

Coming from Unity where installing Android platform support is a breeze.
With UE5.1.1, I’m spent many hours now to try to build a default VR project to an Oculus Quest2. I have followed different tutorials, but no luck. I’m frustrated by the bad documentation provided by Epic Games and the fact that you have to install many third party tools to -theoretically- make Android development work.

Sure UE is meant professional studios that make at least 1M a year, and not small teams or indie devs like me. But it would still be nice to see some better Android platform support.

The error I got this time (and have been googling the past hour): UATHelper: Packaging (Android (ASTC)): Caused by: java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError: Exception org.codehaus.groovy.GroovyBugError [in thread “Daemon worker”]
