I just updated my engine and now I can’t open any of my old projects that I’ve been working on for some time now. The engine crashes while trying to load the project.

I’m referring to the log files requested in the thread I linked you.
“If you are experiencing a crash, then please provide us with the .LOG and .DMP files from your [project]/SavedLogs folder. Additionally, you can please send us the CrashReportClient.log file located in C:/Program Files/Unreal Engine/4.4/Engine/Programs/CrashReport/Client/Saved/Logs.”
Here are the dmp and log files. I can’t seem to be able to find CrashReport folder under my program directory. I tested my project with both the code based one and the normal one and both crash on me.
And double-checking some details before I finish entering this report: You’re able to create new projects and open them normally, right? The crash only occurs when opening older projects that worked fine until 4.4.1.
You could go back to 4.4.0 by compiling the GitHub version, but not with the Launcher.
As a few more investigative questions, did you update from 4.4.0 to 4.4.1, or were you on an older version (such as 4.3) when you updated to 4.4.1? Secondly, what versions were your now-broken projects created in?
I’m still unable to reproduce this crash on my machine. Are there any other details you can give me that might help? Are your projects C++ projects? Do they all make heavy use of experimental features like UMG?
That should help us narrow it down. Just one more thing. Have you submitted a crash report with the Crash Reporter? If you have, telling me the name of your project (or the Description of the bug you put into the crash reporter) would help a lot.
I also noticed performance issues with this hotfix. My editor used to launch in less than 1 min. Now, it takes more than 3 mins to launch. I’m not sure what’s the problem. I wish there was a revert update button.
We’re still working on figuring this out for you. It would be very helpful if you could send us your project so we could reproduce the crash at the office.
Hmm, okay. Could you make a local copy of the project and remove levels and assets from the copy until it’s small enough to send (but still crashing)? It will be much, much easier to find and fix this crash if we can get our hands on a project that crashes that way.
If you aren’t comfortable with sharing your project publicly, I can send you a private message over the Forums with an email address you can send the project (or link) to.
