Why doesn't my widget animation work?

I have made the simplest animation in the universe… And it does not work!!
I’m just changing the scale of an image.

It works in the editor, but it doesn’t work during gameplay.

This is the only code in the Widget Blueprint…

The event is executed… I can see the PrintString message on the screen.

Does anyone know what could be wrong?

For some reason if the animation plays in the “event construct” first then it will works in the “Animate” event too…

Can someone explain why this happens?

I really only want to run the animation when the character shoots.
Construct Event was not in my plans…
