Why doesn't Epic Games make rocks or plants available for use in foliage mode?

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to use the rocks called BP_RR_rock_volcanic_angled for my map, but I want to place them using foliage mode to make the placement more random and faster. The problem is that I can’t use them in foliage mode because they seem to be referenced or restricted in some way.

If anyone knows how I can get these rocks to work with foliage mode, or if there’s a way to enable them for foliage, I’d really appreciate any advice or solutions.

At the moment, you won’t be able to use BP_RR_rock_volcanic_angled directly in your map with the Foliage tool, since it’s a Blueprint, and Foliage Mode in UEFN only supports compatible Static Meshes.

What I recommend is using compatible Static Meshes, either by importing your own or downloading them from the FAB marketplace, where you can find a wide variety of rocks, vegetation, and other assets optimized for foliage placement.

You can find the “Import” and “Fab” buttons in the top bar of the Content Browser, as shown in the image
