It constantly crashes either after loading a project or trying to add objects. I could never mess with my metahuman because it crashes when metahuman is imported and I have to try to import again without error. UE is crazy. ever since uE4 i could never use the program as intended becuase its so process heavy and laggy even when i have above requirements.
If you’re trying to run metahuman with hair strands, it’s gonna take a lot of resources. I mean the meshes alone are very high… I gave up on metahuman importing because it’s very resource heavy and I don’t think it’s quite ready for development for the masses. You could try importing without the hair, but what good does a bald mesh serve? It almost always fails/crashes or just lags out the editor and I have a pretty beefy machine myself. I’m personally seeing a huge influx of problems on the forums since UE5 fully released that aren’t related to general coding and more related to crashes and memory problems. Growing pains I guess… This post doesn’t help I know, but it’s a general observation for the helpless lol.
On a side note, I also have a machine running a Ryzen 5 with the 1650 super with 32GB of ram and metahuman is out of reach with this machine… I have had success with the Ryzen 7 with a 2080 with 32GB ram, but I find even with recommended specs you can still overload your setup quite easily if you’re running a lot of code and try the metahuman stuff.
