Our map contains foliage, using foliage mode. Each bush or tree has its own custom made LOD’s. This seems to cause problems when it comes to lower end devices like Switch or Mobile. It seems that on those devices, it’s being set to LOD 2, which is why it looks like planes.
On PC and console, foliage looks perfectly fine and the LOD’s work as intended. We’ve tested it and we have come to the conclusion that it 100% has something to do with having our own imported LOD’s. Assets we have in foliage mode that either don’t have an LOD or don’t have imported LOD’s, work perfectly fine on Switch and Mobile. It’s only one’s with imported LOD’s. We also know it’s only a foliage mode issue because the same assets, when they’re placed as a static mesh, work properly and looks good for Switch and Mobile. Obviously Switch and Mobile have to be bumped down graphically, but does our foliage really have to look like planes? I feel there’s gotta be a way to improve it. If anyone has a solution or suggestions, it would be much appreciated, thank you!!
