I’ve run into an issue that I’ve never seen before. For some reason, recently, whenever I apply collision to my basic UE5 Door SM, save the changes and then close the project to reopen it later, the collision doesn’t save and disappears. I then apply it again, making sure all settings are correct, such as having the setting on BlockAll and so on, but every time I close the project and reopen it, it’s gone again.
Here’s a link to a video of what I’m talking about: Video
During my work session, if I apply the collision, it works perfectly normally. However, once I close the project and open it again, the collision doesn’t save, and it’s gone. Again, I’ve never encountered this problem before and am a bit worried that it might happen to something more important, so I was hoping someone knows what’s going on.
Hello there @ElijahBowen2004!
That is a peculiar issue you are encountering. Is it affecting collision specifically, or are other modifications not being saved as well to that asset (LOD set, materials applied, etc.)? Are other assets in the project affected by this issue?
Also, to isolate this, please test creating a blank project, create a cube, assign basic collision to it, save the project, then re-open to confirm if collision is still saved. If the problem does not show up in the test project, then the issue would be isolated to your current project.
Hiya. I just tested what you suggested, and it seems to only happen in my project. With a new project, the collision is saved as usual. What’s weird, however, is that I can save collisions on objects other than the Door SM. I don’t know if there’s a super hidden setting I accidentally enabled, but it does worry me a bit that it could happen again with an object I really need to have collision with. For now, I am not in trouble, as I can just use another Door model that allows me to save collisions.
