Why does my character stick to ground/walls when flying?

Hey guys I am having issues with my character sticking to walls and terrain when I am trying to jetpack off them. If I am moving on the surface and try to lift off, my character clings on for dear life.
If I rub against a walkable surface my character will lose momentum and try to follow the normals of the terrain.

I recorded a short video showing what is happening, any insights you guys could give me would be appreciated.

This is caused by the engine zeroing out Z velocity during startfalling and walking movement mode

Did you fix this?

The issue causing this for me was the control rig in the AnimGraph. When I disconnected it the player character stopped sticking to the ground
