Yeah i just avoid this issue now, delete outside of the editor in windows because every time I use the delete function in UE it takes to long and ends up breaking something anyway that I have to go and delete the remaining file anyway from project file.
Deleting while inside UE is pointless, same if there is an issue with porting in meshes, if it somehow corrupts on import you have to delete the file from the project in windows or you can never overwrite the bad file, it won’t even let you save anything in the editor till you remove it and it won’t do it while inside the editor, Force Delete is pointless, just tell people to delete outside UE and fix up redirectors if needed which usually isn’t required.
