Ok so since i started using Unreal version 4.26 things have worked then not worked, the exact same assets go from work fine and fully rig to mannequins to i can barely get them to load into the current version like so…
No this error seem to be due to a Shell attachment on the character that exported & fine last version 5.3.1 but now in 5.3.2 gives me a fatal error, i removed the attachments and add on’s for the figure to export fine again.
Shells now either don’t work at all and some attachments using shells for DAZ3D to fail to work.
Products are sold in both marketplaces as compatible between editors as stated on the DAZ3D website, since i paid for a working bridge in Unreal i expect all my assets to show up correctly if previous versions displayed them correctly but i find after installing these updates i get more issues than problems solved which sets all my projects back waiting for another update that will fix the issue & when we get that update it will break something else that worked every version just to evolve a new set of issues i don’t need when i rather just be developing instead of trying to fix issues like fatal crashes or some materials that refuse to display correctly no matter the setting you select or reprogram to a widget.
since version 5 i have nothing but issues with the bridge and characters retargeting to Unreal mannequins where they worked fine in versions 4.26 & 4.27.
So most every patch breaks half the marketplace content till it’s updated too as-well as all my own models from other editors that are suppose to bridge into Unreal, you give these people Mega Grants for it then stuff around customers when they use it after all the drama of setting this up and using it version to version, it’s already cost me $2500 in burning out a video card rendering a hair piece i was trying to export.
Someone Please Export Kensington Hair piece from Daz3D with all Sub D levels on max without burning out expensive 12GB video cards.
ALL this craz about A.I taking over the world in 2 years, hardly i think the I.T community is full of themselves and get it wrong in most cases because look at the state of updates, the A.I would work one version and totally break the next update, how can anyone build a solid product with product updates that break more than they fix over all putting projects on hold.
If you are going to update and add new features and they break all content than how is this an update or good at any rate and why does this I.T community think it’s so great for pushing out bad updates only to rave about some new function that barely works they are trying to implement.
Why does this bridge work then not work, i have tested it on the same assets over several versions now stuff that did work doesn’t and i can barely get any asset exported over to Unreal without a crash, so far i have managed to get these assets across with a few characters in other projects but that’s it, the rest crash for some reason.
The big Star Gate took me 2 hours to convert via the bridge but managed to work where simple stuff that should work fails so i’m perplexed on this issue as why highly detailed models like the Stargate and space vehicles are full skeletons with opening doors and landing gears that raise & lower do all work. The bridge doesn’t seem to be grabbing all assets unless fitted to the skeleton as people use different methods not everything seems to be working now.
if these were free assets i wouldn’t care but i purchased these for my business and fully licensed all my assets that i intend to convert for legal reasons so i would like all my content to work in Unreal as advertised, this has cost me time and money as i have not been able to get any product to market due to these constant problems trying to use the assets i purchased & licensed to use in game projects.
I’ll lodge a complaint with Better Business if this isn’t fixed at some point because Unreal has Billions and i’m sure Daz3D has Millions so i want my content to work as it was advertised! You can’t sell products that work intermittently how is anyone supposed to get any kind of workflow between editors & content created.
The only reason i had originally purchased from daz3d was the fact content worked in both Unreal & Unity as-well as many other editors but now believe this is false due to the amount of issues i have had with content, i get no apologies when my content breaks where it did work fine in previous patches and than i’m waiting months for a fix from Billionaires!
Any reason this continues to crash on simple skeletons that would normally port over. Here is yet another of the many CTD i get from 5.3.2 bridge
Always this kind of crash now, only a few things port over.
