Why does any game using Unreal Engine freeze and crash but no other games do? 4-26

Hello,

Recently I have run into any game using the Unreal Engine will freeze and crash but my other games work just fine. Examples of games are: Hell Let Loose, Police Officer Patrol Simulator, New World, Lost Ark…

Games that work fine are: Microsoft Flight Simulator, Grand Theft Auto V, American Truck Simulator, Euro Truck Simulator, Farming Simulator 22…

I have the latest Nvidia driver’s and I have even rolled back the driver’s to see if that was the issue and still no solution.

I am running Windows 10 Pro, i9-10850K, Z490 Aorus Ultra motherboard, Zotac 3080 TI, and 32 GB ram at 3200 Mhz.

Depends - can be an Nvidia thing as you already seem aware.
IF the message is D3D Device Lost that’s almost a sure sign of either a Driver bug - or an actually bad graphics card.

As to why other games work… That’s probably because they aren’t built with Unreal…

Yeah I have used DDU twice to completely remove the grpahic drivers and put them back on… And then I contacted Zotac support yesterday and they had me run something called furmark. and the cared scored 15,913… So I am not to sure at this point…

And I assume since the games are not mine me installing lets say UE5 wouldn’t help?

And yes I forgot to say for the Police Simulator Patrol Officer game it is always the D3D Device Lost… The others would just freeze or just crash with no error popping up.
