Why do my animations look jittery when played through a Montage versus directly through the Anim BP?

I’ve set up a basic character with idle/run/jump animations, and they blend fine in the Animation Blueprint. But when I play a melee attack using an Animation Montage, the transition feels jittery and less fluid. I’m using Root Motion, and I suspect it’s related. Could someone walk me through best practices for handling smooth transitions between Anim BP and Montages?
