HI,I have encountered a very bizzare situation, I was trying to import a set of photos to reality capture, and after Align images, among 106 images only 31 images were registered(used), I have tried everything such as changing the setting except touching the control points, but none of them worked, but once I tried different machine(PC), same default setting, all those 106 images are recognized, why did this happen? Is it something related to the cpu or gpu of the machine? but the strange thing is the machine failed to import has a faster cpu and better video card-nvidia 4060ti, or is it something else? Many thanks!
Hello @zhalimuto01
Basically, each alignment in RealityCapture is slightly different.
But such big difference is quite strange. What kind of images have you used? Is it possible that other 70 images were aligned in second component?
This shouldn’t be related to the mentioned HW,.
hi, those are regular images taken by sony dslr camera,
there is no other components generated, are there any settings which could possibly caused this ?thanks!
The only option could be that those images are disabled for alignment (but it is not your case, as I can see).
As you haven’t change any setting, there shouldn’t be such influence (as all the images are aligned on other machine).
Can you show also Selected input window in 1Ds view?
The first one.
It looks like there weren’t found any features on the not aligned images.
Is it also happening after application restart on that machine?
It happens every single time when I load those images, when I tried agisoft metashape, all those images could be loaded, although with some warning says they have zoom information
Have you tried that application reset?
Also, would it be possible to share your dataset with us for some tests? If so, I can send you the invitation for the data upload.
sure, I can upload the files to the data base you provide, where is the application reset button?
I was trying to find it but couldnt see it
btw I have tried reinstalling RC and also installed the older version 1.4.2 already, none of them worked.
There is a link to the tutorial how to provide a reset.
You don’t have to open RealityCapture to reset the user interface configuration or fully uninstall it to make it like a clean install. You can do it easily by following these steps:
- Press and hold the SHIFT key on your keyboard
- Run RealityCapture
- Trigger the RealityCapture Reset window
- Choose what you want to reset in the dropdown menu (choose Make it like a clean install)
- Click the Reset button
Reinstalling without the reset uses basically the same settings as before.
I’ve sent you the invitation for the data upload. It can be in your spam folder.
Ok,thanks man,off work now, will try it first thing on Monday,
photos have been zipped and upload to the box, please take a look, thanks!
and I have just tried to reset everything, but it doesnt seem to work, only 41 images have been aligned, the strange thing is everytime the number of aligned images is different… what causes this difference?
