… I doubt you are going to get any further on thread. I would suggest you contact Epic directly through the channels provided on the website and take the matter up with them. Right now everything being posted here is speculation and hearsay and no one actually knows what is going on.
Strictly speaking, the Epic’s answer is a ******** a lot of software of any kind originated from USA available in Belarus officially. Export restrictions are mostly about preventing dealing with small set of businesses originated from Belarus, it is not the total prohibition of whole country and I am in doubt there are any single word about the Software (except the export of encryption software, but it is separate at all).
Good hint, , thanks, will try. A have already use official contacts from UE4 site (at the moment it was available, before it gone) and they are not answering yet.
why i cant open website without proxy?
Thank you for visiting our site. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide the requested service at time, due to the IP from which request was originated.
Hello
It’s definitely a tough situation, but I recommend you to avoid using “Racism, political hate and etc” sort of accusations. It’s not professional and does not contribute to resolving the. IF providing service to you country is illegal in US then Epic can’t do it without breaking the law. IF it is the case - Epic can’t do anything with that and I hope you understand .
However, is investigating your and he started just yesterday, I recommend you to wait for his further response.
You could be a bit right about the words I have used, but all they have figurative sense, think all understand that. But you are not right with the rest. There only two options about the source of the:
It is due to the USA laws
It is due to the unintentional technical problems
I do understand that resolving technical could take a time and absolutely ok with that, even if it could take significant time (and there are GDC, I understand that too and take into account).
If it is due to the law, they know it and it took just a couple of minutes to write us an answer “you are under export restrictions”, but support team keep quiet for more than 48 hours already. If there are no issues with the law then it could be only technical issues. Again, it took a couple of minutes to write us an answer that “it is not the export restriction, it is technical” - and we will know that we just need to wait.
We just want to know what the source of the (from two possible options) - it requires no extra effort from support team to answer such simple question.
If it is the law restrictions then we are in big troubles, I hope you understand that, so you should understand that for us it is critical to get the clear understanding of situation as quick as possible.
Same here. I’m from Belarus and access to the website now is blocked. Also I never heard of any software export restrictions applied to Belarus, and wast majority of other companies including big ones like Google and Apple are doing business here just fine. Actually it was not long ago (Summer 2014) when Google included Belarus into the list of countries allowed to actually sell their apps through Google Play.
I really hope is just a misunderstanding that will be ruled out soon. Still, the answer that Biliogadafr got from the Epic support in November regarding the Belarus not being in country list is more than worrying.
Even if you can download the source code, the question is, will it be possible to sell the game!
When I wrote a year ago in a support that I can not pay from Belarus, they told me that I could buy it by specifying another country and it does not affect the ability to sell the game from Belarus. It’s was writen by Wei. I apologize for my English.
