Why developers in Belarus were blocked ? It is longer impossible to download UE4.

Quick update – it turns out we were overly aggressive in the way we are blocking folks in Belarus and Lebanon. Our apologies for any and all issues caused for affected!

We are currently looking into tech solutions that would allow us to open up access to almost while still complying with US and EU law. It is most likely going to boil down to us not allowing certain first / last name combinations from signing up. We also need a process for folks that unfortunately share the same name as someone on the official “bad actor” list to still be able to sign up after verifying they are not the person on the list.

We already have someone looking at the code, have a meeting on Monday to go over all the tech details, and are making the implementation a priority. My hope would be for us to be able to deploy all by the end of next week. fingers crossed

Please also consider the following:

1. Add Belarus (and other blocked countries if they missed too) to the list of countries in the Account settings. So that Account registration information will be absolutely complete, correct and unambiguous.

2. Browsing at least part of unrealengine.com doesn’t require signing in, so could it be possible to unblock these parts prior the complete resolution?
