Hello, I have an iPhone game I have been working on for the last few months and now when I try to open my project it crashes before it even opens. i need to be able to recover this somehow, I was getting ready to publish it and don’t want to lose all my work!
If anybody can give me some tips or suggestions I would greatly appreciate it!
What version of the editor are you currently running, and are you using source or binary? If it’s the latter, a good place to start is the dropdown in the launcher on your editor version number, it has a choice called ‘verify’ which can sometimes repair issues like this.
Also, please update to the latest version, we had an update yesterday that fixed some crucial bugs and crashes. Let me know how it turns out!
I’m usiing engine version 4.7.2, and I just updated to version 4.7.5, and verified it. This still does not work. And to be honest, I don’t know how to tell if I’m using binary of source.
Ok, so I was just looking though the files in my project and found that the reson I could not open it was with my character blueprint. When I took it out of the file, my project opened just fine, but then my bluprint, the main character bluprint is not there. I also found If i duplicated the project and removed all the files except the character blueprint I could also open it. Is there any way I can duplicate the file from the project with the blueprint, and put it in the one without?
I don’t think you’re going to have any luck returning the character blueprint you separated out back into the project if that was causing the crash. Have you tried recreating the BP in the project that works?
