Hello, I am new to the Unreal Engine, I have worked with Poser and iClone before but my question is why I can’t create a MetaHuman project from the Epic Games launcher.
I am in the marketplace, select MetaHumans Jun 8, 2022 and click on CREATE PROJECT and then choose the location, select the version (5.0) and then CREATE.
The result is an immediate DOWNLOAD REQUEST FAILED, The content requires a supported engine version. I am using the 5.03 version, what am I missing here?
Hey there @Mortandos! Welcome to the community! Are you by chance on MacOS or Linux? There was an issue with the Metahumans package that was only available on Windows.
sometimes it takes a while or even a couple of launcher restarts
only for the meta humans
but
you don’t really need the main metahumans project
you start with a blank
it helps to use the virtual production template as it loads in livelink and stuff
but any blank template will do
then open the metahumans site and create the metahuman you want
its in a browser
once you have created your metahuman
you export it to the unreal level that is open in the background
there is a metahumans and bridge plugin that have to be enabled for that
but
if you export your metahuman from bridge to your pc
you can drag the folder and drop it into your project as well
it will make you enable a bunch of plugins for groom and stuff then restart
after that
you can get the faceposes and body poses from the City Sample or the City Crowds sample project
@ christuusgnosis Thank you, I tried to export via the meta humans project, that didn’t work. I just saw the project in the Epic Games Launcher and wanted to check it out. I tried multiple times but no luck.
@ SupportiveEntity This is a little off topic but I sucessfully imported a prebuilt MetaHuman in my test project. In the content folder there are so many subfolders, where can I find the actual Meta to import it into my scene? Is there a documentation or tutorial for beginners? Thank you.
