Why can't I change the material of an imported mesh?

I import the mesh. But no matter what options I change regarding the materials, it won’t let me change the material!

It’s been happening to me recently with everything I import.

It seems it’s not just the mesh that matters. All my meshes have the material blocked.

I am not sure, but your screenshot shows the material slot in the LOD section. The place were to change the materials is at the very top of the static mesh editor, in your image that slot is collapsed and not visible. I think so, I don’t speak spanish
