Why brand validation for a single-player game?

Hi.
Decided to sell your games not only on Steam but also on Epic Gamaes and encountered various pitfalls.

  1. Epic Games obliges to add achievements, although it is only a recommendation. Still, they were added somehow and they work. Tested.
  2. But our adventures didn’t end there and Epic Games now wants to do a brand check, obliging to make their own website, which is also optional.
Anyway, the site was made too. But the check will go on for an unknown amount of time.
Technical support is silent by the way and it is useless to write to them.

Question: what are all these manipulations for, if the game is single-player?

  1. Epic Games obliges to add achievements, although it is only a recommendation. Still, they were added somehow and they work. Tested.

This is to assure customers on EGS get the same features are the ones on Steam. If the game has achievements on Steam, you need to implement achievements on Epic.

Technical support is silent by the way and it is useless to write to them.

As far as i know the team is at the offsite. So expect a response after everyone is back.
