Why are my mesh distance fields so blocky at the edges? UE5

I have a very simple material I’m testing. Snippet here.

The effect looks… bad.

What’s up with the blockiness? I see a hint of a smooth gradient and fade in the corner, but everywhere else obviously suddenly drops off. Any ideas? This is on UE5.

This doesn’t appear to be a problem in 4.26. Is there a setting somewhere that changed in UE5 that would make this happen?
