So I am having a problem with my scene. Many of the materials for the objects in my scene (i.e. mountains, rocks, snow banks, and even the ground) are not showing up in Detailed Lighting mode. Essentially the objects (with the missing materials) look super white and desaturated.
I do not have this same issue with the Lit and Unlit modes, and all of the materials load just fine in those lighting modes. It’s just the Detailed Lighting mode.
Has anyone run into this problem before???
How did you solve it?
Down below are screenshots of the problem. The first image is Detailed Lighting mode, and that’s where you can see the problem. The second image is the Lit Lighting mode, and the last image is the Unlit Lighting mode.
Here is a DropBox link to the Unreal file; however, be warned it’s a really big file. I added it here just in case anyone needs more context.
That’s what detail lighting looks like.
Same pic with a rock material on the ground
Detail lighting “activates a neutral Material across the entire scene, using the normal maps of the original materials”
Right on. But why are snow materials SUPER white?
Like, they look waaaaay over exposed or something. And I can’t figure out what is wrong with them.
Do you happen to know what’s causing that?
Also, sorry for replying so late. Been busy with work and haven’t had the chance to reply.
Also, For the rocks circled in orange, I have a slope function for them that is suppose to replicate snow. It’s the same thing seen on the rocks circled in blue in the image below.
However, the snow isn’t showing up in the detailed lighting mode.
But you can see the slope function in the lit mode and the unlit mode for some reason.
I have no idea why this is happening.
Have you seen this before?
It’s only a problem, if things don’t look right in normal lighting mode. Nobody’s going to be playing it in detail lighting mode
Detail lighting view has nothing to do with exposure. It’s showing normal maps.
