Why are my animations turning linear when importing?

I’m importing animations from Max 2013 via FBX and it looks very linear/jerky…all the smoothness is lost. In max it looks really smooth though.

I’ve tried to bake animation on fbx export in max but that doesn’t fix it either. I’ve also tried changing animation compressionin the engine, however, choosing any of the animation compression options causes the engine to crash 100% of the time. Also tried ticking the “Default Sample Rate” option without success either. V4.5.1.

Can you post a picture of your export options from Max and your import options from UE4?
