The answer is… How much would you like to pay sir? … Seriously, you’re a student just starting out. Unless you’re loaded, don’t spend anything more on a laptop today than you actually need to (bad value and yes lots of devs use them). But look for the cheapest entry level laptop you can find for now. Until you actually learn UE. In the event you get good, then buy something decent as prices improve.
Ignore the following advice if you like, but consider yourself warned. Never ever use a good game dev laptop for gaming. As it can shorten the life to a third or even less (think a year or sometimes even 6 months)! Instead buy a console for gaming. As for the other stuff… Search out forum accounts of Asus motherboards & laptops… Asus are frequently a nightmare… That’s why they’re cheap…
