I have an i7 4790 running at 4 GHz.
What is also not unimportant are the other components like RAM. I have 32 GByte installed, so even with UE4 editor, 3DMax, Photoshop, etc open, the system does not need to swap memory.
Also the GPU is quite important… It of no use if you have a top CPU, a lot of RAM and then put a GeForce210 in the system. I guess it would run, but not really good…
But getting the “best” might also be not such a god idea… If you go for a Titan X/Z, you are covered for sure (for the moment :))
What brings me to another question, mabe an expert here can answer:
- If powerfull GPUs are a good thing, why are cards like the NVIDIA Quadro/Tesla not suited for game development? What is the catch there
