Where's the Advanced Vehicle template gone?

Mine just isn’t there. If I knew where the assets were stored in Windows I could at least go and see if they exist. The trouble with the one that isn’t advanced is I don’t have as many pieces of track or anything like that. I’m trying to follow a tutorial online and it of course starts by using all the Vehicle Advanced template features, so I’m basically stuffed and can’t learn to use Unreal without either the template existing (as is apparently supposed to be the case) or with some other solution. I’m pretty computer literate so if somebody could guide me towards another solution, such as the location of the assets, a download page from the Epic server, or anything, I can make it all work from there. I hope somebody sees this, and thanks in advance.

Update: I actually found it in windows after some digging, and opened it directly from windows instead of through the launcher, but mine doesn’t look like everyone else’s from the tutorials, somehow. I have rolled back to 5.0.3 to ensure mine is the same as the tutorial creators, so that shouldn’t be an issue, unless the asset packs are held separately somehow.

Isn’t the VehicleAdv supposed to have loops and curved tracks and barrels and stuff in there? I’ve looked at multiple tutorials and they ALL begin with it looking like that, exactly the same map with the exact same assets, so I know they haven’t custom created anything. Different tutorial creators too, so that’s out. I double checked everything to make sure it wasn’t me being an idiot.

So I guess the question now is: does VehicleAdv contain more track components than just the single base track in Vehicle (as in, not advanced)? And if so, even though they haven’t appeared automatically for me, how do I find them? I think that’s probably the best way to go about this. If they exist somewhere that can be dragged into the scene, then I don’t need them to just pop into the template. So the question I guess is twofold now: where can I find those assets, and how do I tell my project to recognise their existence?

Updated update: I figured out how to do all that stuff above, but it still didn’t have the track pieces… Anyways, making track pieces from VehicleAdv myself taught me a lot about the engine, so I guess this was a good experience lol

I’m migrating from the UnityPocalypse so just getting my head around Unreal. Frankly, this is already better than Unity. Makes me think I should’ve made the switch years ago.

I’m still very curious what’s gone on with missing those template pieces so if anyone knows I’d love to hear about it, but purely as a matter of curiosity now. Making the race track is going well at present :slight_smile:
