Where to store source files?

Hello,

I haven’t found it yet in the docs, would like to know please what is the recommendation regarding where to store the source files exported from the DCCs, aka .fbx, .png, etc. files? Would it be preferable to store these at the same location as the source files (.max, .psd in example) or within the same folder structure where the unreal files are (.uasset, etc.)?
