Lumen having a lot of noise in reflections in dark areas

I am experiencing Lumen Reflection Noise with Unreal Engine 5.3. @jblackwell Your explanation of the problem got me thinking and try a few different things. I found these settings that seem to be giving me much better results with Lumen Reflections with materials that have roughness, and significantly less noise. With these settings it looks much more realistic than the “screenspace” reflections, and not as good as pathtracing (obviously), but it’s something in the middle utilizing lumen refl…

This post seems to have solved my noise issues with Lumen, however, it will only do so upon resetting inside of the project in the editor. If I restart the editor, the changes revert (of course, this is because of the initiation folders.)

I am savvy of permanently changing the POOLSIZE value in the .ini folder, but I have no idea where to find the values to adjust the above-linked lumen settings.

In the project directory there is a config folder, change folder has a defaultenine.ini file, you can use the notebook program to open and add the console commands you want to add.
