hello, i’m trying to research information for my next game project, i’m trying to find martial arts mocap files.
all mocap that i have found about martial arts, karate files, i want to show many styles of martial arts in my next game, that is why i came here with this question:
is there a site on the web where i can buy martial arts mocap by style (karate, kung fu, kenpo, taekwondo …)
if not, is there any workaround ?

Currently, you can get a lot of combat animations for free on mixamo.com
I have found a japanese site that has some free combat animations called mocapdata.com, but I don’t know if it is legit or not. I have never downloaded anything from it.
As for motion capture, I have found some programs, but they require specific hardware.
I have found Berkel Kinekt free and ipiSoft trial. Berkel works with Kinekt and ipiSoft supports Kinekt and PS Eye.
There are other programs that are supposed to do markerless mocap like Organicmotion, but they don’t show up prices.
Doing a search on google for free mocap software should lead you to more results.
I sugest you to start learning animation. You will get more out of it than using mocap or downloading animation files. Learn Blender character animation, then look at videos of your favourite fighters and try to animate them. After that, compare. More you practice, more accurate results you will get.
