I am trying to just get my bearings creating a mobile project. I develop on a PC but have an iPhone. I wanted to following the iOS QuickStart guide found here in the documentation.
Under the first section titled… 1 - Project Setup
The second step says, “Next, open the iOSQuickStart project in Unreal Editor.”
Where is said iOSQuikcStart project? I tried this in 4.26.2 and am currently downloading 4.27.2 to see if it just comes with those project builds setup.
I feel like the documentation is vague or I am missing previous steps. Any tips or location of a great walk through would be great. My real goal is not really to release and iOS project but to just develop and test locally on my device with touch and gesture controls. I have an old MacBook Pro that maybe could run Unreal. I am going to only use Blueprints.
What am I missing? The guide seems incomplete and I am just looking for some guidance.
Ok, I actually was able to find an answer to my own question… kind of. So again, to restate my goals. I just wanted to be able to work with phone controls and gestures just to learn. I don’t really need the project set up for iOS or Android export… although that would be an option if I got further into my learning process.
However, to experience the controls on my iPhone I have created a new project, in this case I just used one the Advanced Vehicle template. I then followed the instructions this video to get the controls to show up on screen…
However, I still wanted to actually use my device and NOT a joystick to test the game. For that I downloaded the Unreal Remote 2 app from the App Store.
If you need help on setup for that one, you can watch and follow this video…
