In UDK, if I were creating a quick prototype level, I could hit “~” and type “addbots 10” and 10 bots would pop in and I’d get to shoot them - very rewarding.
Now, in UE4, there’s no “addbots”…is it hidden somewhere else? Is there an easy way to just add bots in without setting up all the AI in blueprints?
Hi Brian,
This has been removed to make UE4 a more agnostic game engine. Not everyone needs bots for their game. UDK used more FPS style gameplay features than are currently in the engine. It has been left to the user to create their own resources for their games within UE4.
There are a lot of features that were in UDK that will not be carried over to UE4 for this reason. Some users on the Wiki and the Forums have made some versions of things that were included with UE3/UDK to help the community.
Thank you!
Tim
Thanks Tim! I understand the agnosticism, I just loved adding bots to anything I was working on and then blowing them away.
