where i can download free 5.6.0 because 5.6.1 what automaticly download and replace my current version not compatable with my gpu and older versioons doesn t work ether so it pretty much i havent any of my projects anymore(

I am a teacher at a community college. Some of my students are having trouble finding 5.6.0 on the Launcher. All the Launcher has is 5.6.1. Is 5.6.0 still available for download? Also if you create a file in 5.6.1, it won’t open in 5.6.0. Is anyone else experiencing these things?

all of that is normal. don’t use 5.6 use 5.6.1

Hey there @yofreetime! As Nande mentioned, if you would like 5.6 without the 5.6.1 version hotfix, you’d have to build it from the source on Github:

However the 5.6.1 hotfix shouldn’t (in most cases) cause issues, as between minor versions there’s mostly smaller bug fixes. This isn’t entirely impossible however.

thanks for expanding supportiveEntity.

one thing i’d like to add is that 5.6.1 has many bugfixes, hence 5.6 is more buggy, that’s why i recommend to stick with 5.6.1. i find it really hard to imagine why someone would really need to use 5.6

To expand further a bit since you mentioned “free”, because Unreal Engine is free from the source. I used to give this disclaimer more often, but never take binary builds of the engine from anywhere but the Epic Games Launcher or built yourself from Github. There have been reports of malicious builds being distributed forever.
