I recently downloaded some Static Mesh Assets from Megascans. I have 2 questions I’d like to get answered.
First off where are the textures found in the Asset Material?
- S_Tundra_Mossy_Boulder (Static Mesh) vivvecldw- open
- MI_Tundra_Mossy_Boulder_vivvecldw_8k.
- M_MS__Default_Fuzz_Material
-
Textures here are all parameters/ placeholders- so where to from here?
-
Albedo
- Sample Type: color
- Metalness
-
DRF- Channel Packed G&B ouput
• Sampler type is Linear Color, but this produces an error on the associated MI_Tundra_Mossy_Boulder_vivvecldw_8k- Sample Type- Linear Color- is the only one that does not produce an error on the Paramter.
-
Normal
- Sample Type: Normal
- MF_Tiling
- MF_Map Adjustment
- MF_Fuzz
-
Albedo

- M_MS__Default_Fuzz_Material
- MI_Tundra_Mossy_Boulder_vivvecldw_8k.
This is the structure of the Tundra Mossy Boulder vivvecldw. Most of the materials I’ve looked at lately, the MI gives you the opportunity to plug in whatever textures you want to use. However in this material, and it’s MI, I don’t see any place to plug in textures.
As noted the Textures seen in the M_MS_Default_Fuzz_Material are all texture parameter/placeholders. I’ve gone through every MF associated with this material and I don’t see where the actual textures associated with this static mesh are actually attached to it.
Those textures are:
Found in the associate Texture Folder:
*T_Tundra_Mossy_Boulder_vivvecldw_8K_D
*T_Tundra_Mossy_Boulder_vivvecldw_8K_N
*T_Tundra_Mossy_Boulder_vivvecldw_8K_DpRF
Would someone advise me where and how these are attached to the Static Mesh’s material? I’d appreciate it.
Question 2: This material came ready made from Megascans. When I look at the MI, I see a yellow Warning: DRF samples…DpRF as Linear Color. What should that be?
In the mater Material M_MS_Default_Fuzz_Material, I’ve looked at the DRF Parameter, and have gone though all the available choices thinking mask might be it but I get a error label on the Parameter for everything other than Linear Color.
So why is there a warning?
Thanks much for listening!
