When to use blueprint static meshes?

Hello everyone! Sorry for stupid question, I’m just a beginner.
As I know, you have to create blueprints of your static meshes for uploading project on some stocks. But I don’t fully undersant sence of this. On the photo, I used custom data to create unique color of the same mesh.Should I also create blueprint of this mesh? Does it have any important advantages that I don’t know about, or can I not use them if I’ve already made it possible to change the properties of the mesh?
I’m working on indie project,so it’s not for stocks.
Thank you in advance!

You will only want to use static meshes in blueprints when you want to set up events and other logic. Otherwise, you can make different materials for your mesh, apply them, and add them to the world.

got it, thanks!
