When reconstructing a lidar scan aligned with drone imagery I keep getting holes in the reconstruction

I have laser scan data which I set to exact-using a registration and yes to georeferenced and I set to Euclidean. I then marked off 3 GCPS which the erros came within tolerance and I aligned the images and it merged the Drone data with the laser scan quite nicely but when I try to reconstruct the model in normal detail I keep getting models with holes in it? I set the reconstruction region to well above the building and well below the model to make sure it captures all the detail. Could it be something to do with the ground plane? The Ground plane seems to be slightly above the model. Any suggestions?

As a workaround to prevent these missing parts, please try to:

  1. always use reconstruction region
  2. set Minimal distance between two vertices (Reconstruction settings - Mesh calculation) to some value, e.g. 0.001
  3. Raise the number of Maximal vertex count per part (Reconstruction settings - Advanced) to higher value, e.g. 10M or 20M
  4. If there are still missing parts, please try to change the RECONSTRUCTION REGION slightly, say +10-15 % bigger and rotate it by say 10-15 degrees.
