I’m new to Unreal and currently following this tutorial using 5.4.4: https://youtu.be/LTPzc95VY2M?si=U7J0hk0uS_d379CY&t=2538
When getting to the bookmarked time, he gets into foliage painting. Once he selects the foliage assets to be placed, several menus appear under the “x Types selected”.
That looks like an editor error. I know, I know, this sounds silly, but try closing Unreal and reopening it! That will reinitialize all of the models and that looks like a glitch maybe, which should be remedied by a restart or possibly a file check through the launcher!
Hello @Mind-Brain ! Thank you for your reply
I’ve already tried closing and opening the project several times. Rebooting and File Checking didn’t work as well.
I’ve gone as far as deleting my Config folder and replacing it with a newly generated one.
I’m trying to reproduce the issue on my end but that part of the tutorial (It’s a really good tutorial!) goes perfectly fine for me when I do it, using 5.4.4.
If you did the verify, you can also try uninstallation/reinstallation. Other than that I’m not really sure what to do but I’ll keep looking!
Hello again!
Yes I ran the verify through that option. I’m starting to believe it might something project-related.
If I create a new blank, the tool behaves as expected.
In case I have to reimport all my work into a new project, what would be the best way to go through that?
You can use the Migrate tool! Anything you’d like to move, you highlight that then right click → Migrate. It might be under Asset. Then you want to find the new project’s directory (create the project before this part) and select the “Content” folder and it should move it all over just fine. Anything that is referenced by anything you select, they will ask if you would like to move that over as well, make sure you say yes to that so you don’t get any dependency errors!
