When moving towards a rendered object it appears to lighten in color

Anyone else had this problem? In interior setting there seems to be a point when camera gets closer to an object, the render of that object changes brightness/ appears way too light. When camera steps back, it looks normal again. I've turned off all spot/area/IES lights and that did not improve the situation, so it seems the lights themselves are not the problem. Can anyone give me some tips as to why this might happen and what settings might solve this problem? Thank you.

Hello ,

Thank you for posting your question in the community and we would need to get more information on this behavior to best understand what is happening.

Do you have any screen capture or image to share so we can see what is happening. Any information on what objects appear too light and is it all of them? Does this occur in the viewport and with exported media? Is this file specific or happening in every projects?

Looking forward to hearing back from you and if you think this might be a bug please contact us directly by following this link here:

Hi Vincent,

thank you for getting back to me.

I will attach exported images and video. In the images you will be able to see how the colors that we apply from our user library get lighter with every step camera takes towards the object (in this case, our kitchen model). This appears to happen specifically with the kitchen model (we have 5 different models in different projects, and all of them have this same issue), and not with other interior objects. This happens in viewport and exported images, you will be able to see this in the attached video - few steps closer and the kitchen decors are way too light, few steps back and they get darker. This is a big problem as we have to be very color-precise and we cannot get that precision if the colors change their lightness when moving through the interior, and this prevents us prom getting true-to-life close-up pictures of the kitchen.

We adjusted the lighting numerous times, nothing worked.

Also, all the colors/decors that we apply and use in the project tend to be very dependent on the color of the walls, ceiling and floor - if we make the ceiling brighter using an upward area light - the kitchen model gets too dark, same goes with the floor and wall colors- if we make them lighter, the kitchen gets darker, if we make them darker - the kitchen then appears too light. Is there any way to avoid this? Thank you.

Hello again,

any feedback on this issue as of yet?

Thank you
