When I go to ue4 launcher and try to launch ue4 4.27 it gets to 40 percent and gives me a material compile error?

So after I try to launch my ue4 4.27 I get to 40 percent and the game crashes. It saids failed to compile default world material WorldGridmaterial. I went into my file and tried to delete materials I had recently altered before I closed last time but that didn’t work. And this error pops up when loading into the ue4 app itself so I don’t even know if it’s my actual project. I’m not able t even get to the point where I click on my project. Any help would be nice.

WorldGridmaterial is located in the engine folder, if it’s corrupted it could prevent the engine from loading, you could try to repair your installation from the epic laucher (click the arrow next to your courrent engine version and there should be a “repair” function or similar)

Where can I find the engine folder

I also don’t see a repair option

Could you be a little more descriptive please

I’m sorry, it was 4 A.M. and I was writing from my phone so I couldn’t remember the exact name, it’s Verify, not Repair:

If you want to try to replace the material before starting the verification process (that could take a few minutes) here’s my file for version 4.27.2

WorldGridMaterial.uasset (135.0 KB)

It goes inside: …\UE_4.27\Engine\Content\EngineMaterials

The first part depends on where you installed the engine, if you don’t know where, try clicking “Open file location” on the shortcut
