I had this exact thing yesterday!
The repair doesn’t seem to work correctly, and the remove/install can’t deal with some small trace of the launcher in the system. Just enough to trip it up.
I had manually cleared all traces, and registry entries, but still no joy. Until I got a copy of this
It removed what was blocking the process, and then it worked
What amazed me, is that when you start the tool, it tells you it has been phased out, and directs you to a webpage that tells you how you should do it now, using the built in windows tools, which DON’T WORK!
Good old Microsoft, you have to love them or hate them. Let me see… hate!
Hi ClockworkOcean,
thanks for that link - I’m having the same problem and used the download from Windows for me it couldn’t find the Epic Games app as it had not install so the only option was to exit without solving the issue - has anyone else had the same issue and been able to solve it?
