What's up with the prices lately? Many have increased prices by 2-3 times or more

Products that were priced like $50 or $100 all of a sudden became 2 to 4 times more expensive…
Many new products and old products are now in the $200-$400 price range.
Economy worldwide is in a crisis so I don’t see how sellers on the marketplace expect to get more money out of indie developers this way, really.
What are they trying to achieve ? Sell many copies to big AAA software houses ? I doubt any of those would buy anything on the marketplace because they have their own programmers and 3D modelers.
Products priced to be expensive would be bought only by indie developers and small software houses that have been at least quite successful on the market already… and given the fact that on average just 10% of all indie developers manage to really get a business going … while most projects simply fail even not reaching the release stage… how can a marketplace seller expect to earn more this way? At low or medium prices practically every indie developer would buy anything trying to assemble a game project quicker but at high to very high prices very few would risk all that money.

What have you seen go up?

Yes I’ve noticed the trend - apparently the high prices are aimed at “pro-sumers”.

Personally I’m and Indie and will never forget that, my prices will remain low and I will always try and put them on sale when there are sales. I don’t look at the community here as non-entity consumers, we’re all in this together.
