What's the quickest way to make walls and build a level?

I’m used to importing high quality assets and piling them on top of each other for cinematics and stuff, but now I’m planning on making a simple shooter with ps1 level graphics.

I just want to make quick simple levels for prototyping, and when I’m happy with the gameplay I plan to go back and make everything prettier. Normally I take a cube and stretch it to the dimensions I want, but I’m sure there’s a better way to handle all of this. I’m just looking for quick, simple geometry. I’ve been searching online but I can’t find an answer so far.

Three ways off the top of my head

  1. Yes, cubes, nothing wrong with that

  2. Use a product

  1. Use the cube mode in the modelling tools
