Whats the easiest way to avoid and fix this type of alignment issue.

Hi All,

I was wondering what the bast way would be to avoid having this issue with alignment.(Image below is a result of the reconstruction after) This half of the house (and sometimes ill have a floor do this) where the flat surface is shifted and completely off.

Is there a way to find the pictures that are not aligned? and fix this after I try to do the alignment? I would like to find a better way to identify these issues and resolve them. As this is going to create large problems trying to texture when I drop in a low poly model

Thx!

Click control point on the top tool bar, and click on the 3d view right on the wall. Under control points on your 1d view will list suggestions that you can adjust or click the + to approve

There are many threads out there about this very problem.

When you look at the affected area sideways, there will be 2 (or more) surfaces, some call it ghosting. You want to select tie points only from one surface and click “Find Images” and voilà.

Thanks Götz, Ill give that a shot.

I was hoping there was a quick was to identify these.

Even when you think you take enough pictures… you should have probably taken more… lol

Photogrammetric proverb : “you never take enough pictures”

lol

There will always be the one that you didn’t take!

Anyways, the inspection tool might help as well.

The cause in this case is not neccessarily not enough images but rather that there are 2 (or more) groups of images that are not aligned well. Probably some outliers at the back somewhere or from an unusual angle - behind the hedge, up a tree, etc.
