What's the difference between "tint" and "color and opacity" in widget image?

Hi, guys. Can you explain me what’s the difference between tint and “color and opacity” parameters in image brush settings? As I can see, it’s just the same things.

Tint is a color override that goes on top of the normal color. Think of it as a layer of paint that can overlap the original coat with changable transparancy / opacity

It pushes to base colors towards the new one.

So, it doesn’t affect different things? Just two layers? I vaguely remember that someone mention it separated but it was very long time ago.

There are no real layers so to speak. It just shifts the color output towards the tint color. It was more of a metaphore to explain the behaviour.
