what's going on with the texture?

Does anyone know why mesh generated in CR in Meshmixer look like a mess while in ClouodCompare it’s perfectly fine?

Is there any way around to rewrite existing .obj file and open it in Meshmixer correctly?

Hi Magda,

I’ve seen similar things before here on the forum - did you look around yet?

It’s probably because there is something wrong with the texture (not sure if caused by RC or MM) and since CC relies on the pointcloud rather than the texture, that’s why it shows up properly there. Did you try Meshlab yet? There you can switch off the texture and compare…

Hi Gotz, yes I tried to find solution for example here: https://support.capturingreality.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115001197671-Export-OBJ-vs-Upload-to-Sketchfab-Directly but without a success.

In meshlab everything looks ok

but in geological software like MOVE, or  VRGS looks the same as in MeshMixer

Hmmm…

So you are certain that Meshlab displayes the texture correctly and you are not just looking at the coloured pointcloud?

And you tried using one texture file instead of several?

Did you try exporting different formats?

Yes i’m pretty sure that Meshlab display texture correctly.

Model exported with 1 tile looks ok in Meshmixer

Model exported with 10 tiles looks like that

That’s my setting used to export model:

I didn’t try to export in different file format i will give a go.
