all I want is a free software, thats easy to use in making 3d assets like say a fire truck. I know of blender but I want to see if there is anything else because I dont like blender.
Hello @moa_6
I can’t give a specific recommendation on third party software as it isn’t officially licensed by Epic. But, I know the most popular ones I normally see are apps such as Blender, Maya, Unity, and 3D Max. Though Blender is the only truly free software of three, I believe. Despite most of the options not being free, those are generally the most popular. I hope that helps shed some light on the subject!
thanks for the assistance ill follow up on the sugestions
Blender is free, and there are a lot of youtube tuts on it.
There’s also many specialized plugins (that do extra things/faster in Blender). Some are free/paid.
PS if you get Blender, start with v3.5 or v3.3 LTS (bug fixes)
- 3.5 I heard they have an easier asset browser.
- (only has 3.3) “LTS” version = long term stable = if you see tuts, they may work better long term.

But Maya is paid. It’s professional and can do many things, but I haven’t used it.
For grid-drawing 3d geometry shapes (push/pull faces - cubes, walls, slopes, precise shapes), Sketchup was good. It was free. But I havent used it for centuries.
