What specs do you have?

Just curious, what level of specs are out there? Also what is the recommended level to have when using UE4? Right now I’m just using a store-bought laptop, no mods, and I’m not sure if it’ll be enough.

i7 4790K
GTX 980 Ti
24GB RAM

i7 4770 3.4 GHz
Geforce GTX 970
16GB RAM

Here is a link to the recommended and minimum specs.

you might want to take a look at the performance survey thread, it has lots of peoples specs listed in it.

hope that helps:).

Well, I’ll continue this decrementation  My peasantry:

i5 3570K 3.4 GHz
GTX 760
8 GB RAM

… And it works ok. Actually it all depends on how complex thing you want to make… On my with i3, 4 GB RAM and integrated graphic card (HD 4600) I’ve created a graph-learning app in UE and everything was running smoothly. But ofc if you want to make complex high-end graphic game, then you need better specs.

Glad I’m not the only one here with an i5

Thanks this is just what I was looking for!

I’m also on the i7-4790k, GTX970, 16GB 2400Hz memory. Was the best price / power option when I bought it a couple of years(ish) ago.

A peice of ****

Not really, but it’s been able to handle more or less everything I’ve thrown at it. The only time I’ve seen performance dip is when working on an outdoor scene with hundreds of thousands of foliage assets.

yeah, especially the early ones, personally I’d like to see a comparison between 3 releases on the same computer, those being the first the latest and one somewhere in the middle to really see if there’s a difference.

CPU: Core i7-5930K 3,5 GHz
Ram: 32GB (4x8GB) 3000Mhz DDR4
GPU: GeForce GTX 980 Ti AMP! Extreme Edition
HDD’s: 1x Samsung 850 PRO Series SSD, SATA 6G - 512 GB + 1x 2TB Samsung HDD
OS’s: Windows 10 Pro x64

My current setup is this.

CPU: AMD FX-8350
GPU: AMD Radeon R9 280X 3GB (about to upgrade to the 8GB 390X with my tax refund)
RAM: 16GB HyperX DDR3
HDD: 3TB Western Digital Green
OS: Windows 10

It runs pretty well on my setup, it lags in some areas and sometimes games like ARK take ages to load but for the most part it is more than enough to work extremely well!

My setup is:

CPU: i7 6700K @5.1GHz
GPU: AMD Radeon R9 390X 8GB
RAM: 8GB Crucial Ballistix DDR4 2400MHz
Storage: 2x Samsung 840 EVO 512GB 1x 4tb WD Green
OS: Win10

Runs pretty well in a fully built state, but in the editor I can loose a few frames here and ther.
