So this is a bit of an open ended question - I apologize for that.
I want to submit my cover system for the marketplace. It’s coded entirely in Blueprints so in this way it would be like the ledge hang submission.
The thing is - I don’t know what to include.
At the moment it has:
- A dynamic cover volume complete with construction script that allows smart scaling and replaceable geometry
- A base class interface so that both AI’s and player controlled characters can interface with these volumes
- Cover AI that uses the volumes
- Squad manager AI that handles tactical retreats and dynamic move orders
- An animation state machine that works for both player and computer controlled characters
There is a lot I want to do to the project - for example I want the AI to attempt to flank you, I want there to be more behavioural overrides for the AI and so on.
The thing is I need to clean it all up a bit anyway, but I suddenly thought - is this overkill? should I just provide a basic version of the AI to show how to use the cover volumes and that’s it? Or should I go all out?
I guess my question is - what does everyone think I should include to make this a worthy submission to Marketplace?
here is a page that shows it all off - as I said it’s a little rough, that AI’s quite basic right now and some stuff needs fixing up. Let me know your thoughts.
